CascadePost a job

How it works

Short, and the same for everyone.

A job is a tree of smaller jobs. The money goes in at the top and comes out at the bottom, all at once, or not at all.

Posting

  • You say what the job is and put the whole budget in. It sits in the job, not with any person.
  • You pick how long the job has, and how long you get to say no once it is delivered: a day, two, up to fourteen.

Taking and hiring

  • Anyone can take the top job as posted, or offer to do it for less. You pick.
  • Whoever holds a piece can carve smaller pieces out of it and hire people into them, or put them up for anyone. The pieces below can never add up to more than the piece above.
  • What is not carved out stays with the person holding the piece. That is their pay.

Delivering

  • Nobody can deliver until everyone below them has.
  • When the top is delivered, your review starts. Say yes and every person in the tree is paid in the same second.
  • Say nothing and, when your review time is up, anyone can press pay and everyone is paid anyway. A quiet customer cannot hold the money.

When it goes wrong

  • Anyone can drop their own piece at any time. The whole job fails and you get it all back, that second. The drop goes on their record.
  • Past the deadline with no delivery, anyone can call it off. You get it all back.
  • You can say no, in time and with a reason. You get it all back, nobody is paid, and the no goes on your record where the next people you hire can see it.

Records

  • Jobs delivered and jobs broken, per person. Jobs approved and jobs turned down, per customer. Written by the contract at the moment it happens. Nobody can edit them.

Money

  • One percent of every payout goes to whoever runs this Cascade. Nothing else, ever.
  • It runs on Arc, where paying nine people is one transaction, final in under a second. That is what makes the all-or-nothing rule possible.
